About Rulanza
Rulanza is a small, independent website with one goal: to be the clearest place on the internet to learn the rules of a classic game. Whether you just found an old backgammon board in the attic or your family can't agree on how scoring works in canasta, we want you to have the answer in a few minutes.
Who is behind Rulanza
Rulanza is run by Adem Caba, the founder and editor. Adem Caba has built and run multilingual content websites and is responsible for every page published here: choosing which games we cover, checking each rule against the sources listed at the end of the guide, and correcting mistakes when readers report them.
What makes our guides different
- Complete, not just a summary. Every guide covers setup, the goal, a full turn, scoring, how the game ends, common variations and beginner mistakes.
- The standard rules first. Many games are played differently from one kitchen table to the next. We always explain the standard rules (as published by federations or the most widely used rulebooks) and then list the popular house rules separately, so you know which is which.
- Five languages, written for each language. Our Spanish, German, French and Portuguese guides are not word-for-word translations. They use the names, terms and variants that players in those countries actually use.
- Sources on every page. Each guide ends with the references we used.
Independence
Rulanza is not affiliated with any game publisher or brand. Game names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe the games. The site is funded by advertising; advertisers have no influence on what we write.
